Module 4
Introduction
Building on foundational IFS and entheogenic integration, this module explores how the Self can truly lead inner parts toward harmony, and how cultivating trust—both somatically and spiritually—anchors that integration. Through experiential practice and reflective dialogue, students will learn to embody Self-Leadership and to repair and model trust within themselves and in group contexts.
A simple model for understanding any protector part by identifying its survival strategy, the underlying wound it seeks to guard, and the personal cost paid for that strategy.
The innate Self brings calm curiosity and compassion to guide wounded parts toward harmony rather than attempting to control or “fix” them.
Cultivating trust involves tuning into somatic signals—like a steady heart rate and easeful breath—and deepening faith in the Self’s wisdom and in insights from entheogenic experiences.
Mapping how Manager parts (planning, perfectionism) and Firefighter parts (impulsive relief-seeking) clash reveals internal tensions and paves the way for reconciliation.
Facilitators model embodied Self-energy to co-regulate group nervous systems, notice projections onto themselves, and hold transference with clear boundaries.
Techniques such as heart-brain synchronization, mindful breath-body alignment, and values-action mapping foster inner alignment and sustained trust.
Two complementary pathways of development and integration
Daily “Self-Check” logs and journaling prompts (e.g., “When did I lead from Self today?”) will help students notice moments of Self-Leadership versus protector reactivity. Somatic exercises—including guided body scans for “grounded confidence” and “yes/no” movement signals—encourage tuning into trust cues. Pair exercises invite students to practice Self-to-part dialogues and to compose “Trust Repair Letters” to wounded parts.
Evening integration circles and supervised practice sessions will emphasize modeling Self-Leadership in real time: using one’s own calm presence to co-regulate peers, noticing projection dynamics, and applying compassionate neutrality. Case vignette role-plays illustrate how to repair attachment ruptures and foster trust in clients, while group rituals build collective coherence and seal learning.
