About the Creator:
A Life of Surrender
In October 2023, Alberto Varela passed away after being diagnosed with a brain tumor just a few months earlier in June. His illness and death were a reflection of the way he lived—embracing life with unconditional surrender. Alberto’s philosophy centered around what he called the Surrender Process, which he defined as renunciation, surrender, and letting go.
He lived his life accepting every opportunity with open arms, choosing not to fight against the inevitable. He understood that conflict and resistance reside within every human being and believed that each moment of surrender is a gift, a small death of what we are not, allowing us to fully embrace the essence of what we are.
A Legacy of Understanding
Throughout his life, Alberto participated in countless retreats with thousands of people, using these experiences as a laboratory of creativity and depth to deepen his understanding of the human condition. His presence, teachings, and vision have left an indelible mark on those who encountered him.
